Eagles 53-Man Roster 2025

Eagles Depth Chart: Every Move Down to 53-Man Roster

The Eagles had until 4 p.m. Tuesday to trim their roster from 91 to 53, and after three preseason games and nearly three weeks of camp, the first version of the 2025 team is set. Some tough decisions were made, some surprises came late, and a few names will likely be back on the practice squad soon. Here’s the full breakdown.

Other Notables

  • QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson was waived Sunday after Sam Howell’s arrival.
  • S Lewis Cine waived/injured (will revert to IR if unclaimed).
  • OL Darian Kinnard was traded to the Packers for a 2027 sixth-round pick.
  • WR Ainias Smith — a 2024 fifth-round pick — was among the more surprising cuts after showing early promise as a return option.
  • WR Elijah Cooks was an early camp standout before a preseason injury derailed him.
  • TE E.J. Jenkins and Nick Muse both lost out in the battle for TE3.
  • Veteran WR Terrace Marshall never recovered from his knee injury and the trade for John Metchie sealed his fate.

Quick Takeaways

  • QB room reset: With Jalen Hurts at the top, Sam Howell now slots in behind him, Tanner McKee recovers from his fractured thumb, and rookie Kyle McCord is out. Howell is here because the Eagles needed someone trustworthy right away.
  • WR depth battle ends messy: Between Metchie, Darius Cooper, and the vets, there just wasn’t room for Smith, Cooks, or Marshall.
  • LB shuffle: Nakobe Dean landing on PUP isn’t a shock, but the group looks very different than it did two summers ago.
  • OL insurance policy: Fred Johnson’s return over the weekend made Darian Kinnard expendable.

Up Next for the Eagles:

The practice squad signings will come quickly, and a bunch of these names (Lance Dixon, Andre Sam, Montrell Johnson) could be back in South Philly before the week’s over. The Eagles’ 53-man roster is always a “for now” roster. Expect some movement still to come.
