Eagles may have gotten a STEAL with waiver claim from Rams
It seems like everyone is a fan of the Eagles claiming rookie center Willie Lampkin off waivers.
And after seeing five short videos of him pancaking people at the Senior Bowls and during the preseason, I’m sold. That’s all I need to call him the second-coming of Jason Kelce.
Eagles new center might be a beast
“If he’s so good, then why did the Rams let him hit the waiver wire?”
Simple. He sustained an injury during Week 2 of the preseason and Los Angeles doesn’t have Jeff Stoutland. After seeing Stout turn a rugby player into an All-Pro left tackle, I’m positive he could do the same with Lampkin.
The undrafted rookie is on the smaller side — 5-foot-11, 290 pounds — but he plays much bigger. His lateral quickness is second to none and allows him to get leverage on bigger guys before they can even get out of their stance. Couple that with his great hand-fighting, and you have the makings of a future starter.

Will that be in Philly? Hard to say. Cam Jurgens is under contract for the next few years and is already a Pro Bowler. At worst, Stoutland develops him and the Birds flip him for a solid pick down the line. Either way, this is a win-win move for the Eagles.
