Eagles waive Trevor Keegan, already shuffling 53-Man Roster
Well, that didn’t take long. Less than 24 hours after finalizing their initial 53-man roster, the Eagles already opened up a spot. Offensive lineman Trevor Keegan is out, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Job’s Not Finished: Howie Roseman vows to continue building Eagles roster heading into 2025 season
Trevor Keegan, who turns 25 this weekend, was a fifth-round pick out of Michigan in 2024. His rookie season was basically a redshirt year. He was inactive most weeks and only suited up once in the Week 18 finale.
This summer, he bounced around the interior line, getting reps at left guard, right guard, and even trying to learn center. The results were a little uneven. He made the cut Tuesday as part of a massive group of 11 offensive linemen, but by Wednesday morning, that number is now down to 10.
Here’s the OL group after Trevor Keegan’s release:
- Lane Johnson
- Landon Dickerson
- Cam Jurgens
- Tyler Steen
- Jordan Mailata
- Fred Johnson
- Matt Pryor
- Brett Toth
- Drew Kendall
- Cameron Williams
The Eagles also placed sixth-round rookie Myles Hinton on IR with a designation to return, meaning he’s stashed for later.
Here’s the Philadelphia Eagles 53-Man Roster
After Tuesday’s cuts, Howie Roseman basically told everyone not to get comfortable:
“We’re not done… this is a work in progress.”
Classic Howie. With plenty of draft capital to burn and September seen as a trial period, expect more shuffling in the coming days. Trevor Keegan could easily circle back on the practice squad if he clears waivers, which feels like the most likely outcome here.
The Eagles didn’t even make it 24 hours before changing their 53. This isn’t about Trevor Keegan as much as it’s about Roseman keeping his flexibility. The roster is going to keep moving, and this is just the first reminder that nothing’s final in August.
