WATCH: Kyle Schwarber mashes 4 home runs against the Braves
In a night where the Phillies’ power was on full display, slugger Kyle Schwarber still managed to stand out with a four-homer game against the Braves. Yes, you read that right, FOUR HOME RUNS.
Kyle Schwarber now has 49 home runs this season. Just give this man the MVP:

I was writing this after the third home run. I thought there was no way he would hit another, right? Wrong, Ryan, you big dummy.

The first two were just classic Schwarber dingers. The pitcher left the ball up in the zone both times and got punished with absolute nukes to right field.
The third home run is totally ridiculous, though. I don’t know how many hitters can go opposite field by fighting off a pitch like that. He barely swung and sent that shit a few rows deep.
I understand that international fraudster Shohei Ohtani is going to win MVP. I understand that I’m tainted by irrefutable homerism. But if he ends up with 60 home runs – or at least gets close – you simply have to recognize greatness when it’s in front of you.
MVP aside, the league-wide home run race is now very real. Cal “Big Dumper” Raleigh leads the AL with 50, and Schwarber is on his ass. I’m ready to call this one The Battle of the Butts. Two caked-up white boys just going for glory.
What’s not to love?
