Eagles tried to pull off shocking trade for Micah Parsons but Cowboys refused in latest report
Welcome to Philadelphia Eagles Opening Night. The NFL always loves to stir the pot on game days and today was no different. According to reports, Howie Roseman picked up the phone this summer and called Jerry Jones himself to try and bring Micah Parsons back home to Pennsylvania.
Is anyone shocked by this news? Of course not. We’re talking about Micah Parsons and the best mind in football, Howie Roseman. It’s no secret to anyone that the Eagles are the best ran organization in the league.
The Cowboys, of course, wanted nothing to do with giving the defending Super Bowl champs even more firepower. Can’t blame Jerry. Obviously, sending Parsons to the Birds would give them serious consideration for having one of the best rosters in NFL history.
Adam Schefter on the Eagles trying to trade for Micah Parsons
One team that made a strong play this summer to try to trade for All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons was none other than the Philadelphia Eagles, per league sources.

The Eagles called the Cowboys to see if they could acquire Parsons and bring him back to Pennsylvania. But the… pic.twitter.com/Yq5wAPhwqM
And while Micah was indeed sent to the Green Bay Packers, making them a “Super Bowl contender”, deep down I think everyone is in agreement when saying that Micah Parsons always wanted to come home and play for Philly and probably still does.
A Phenomenal Player… with Loser Energy
Credit Micah Parsons for being a freak athlete and undoubtedly a phenomenal player. We’re talking a top 3 defensive talent in the entire NFL, but there’s always been something a little… off.
I guess we’ll call it loser energy that he inherited the moment he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. You really can’t survive in Jerry’s World without catching it. Parsons was no different. This man complains after every game, he goes at reporters on Twitter, and every time the Cowboys choke (which is a lot), Parsons is front and center making excuses.
Not to mention his production in the biggest of games seems to drop and as we damn well know here in Philly, that doesn’t really “fly” with us.
The only team, the only culture that could’ve saved him, was the Philadelphia Eagles.
So, while our dreams of brining Parsons home were shot down. What truly matters is we are the reigning, defending, Super Bowl Champions without him.
What better way to kickoff the quest for a repeat, than embarrassing the Dallas Cowboys on national tv tonight?
