Tyrese Maxey burns more goodwill with pro-Cowboys propaganda ahead of Eagles opener
Sixers guard and Texas native Tyrese Maxey chose today of all days to ruffle Philly fans’ feathers on Twitter. The Cowboys fan decided it best to tweet pro-Dallas propaganda before they face of against the Eagles to open up the season, and the timeline is less than thrilled with that choice.
Tyrese Maxey couldn’t help but spew hateful rhetoric on social media:
PHILLY FAM…. Yall know I love you guys DEARLY and I’m soooo happy the city got a ring! BUT TODAY……. WE BEEFING GO COWBOYS 😂😂😂😂

Dude… read the room.
Needless to say, fans immediately hopped in the replies bashing him for it. I told our esteemed editor Drew Smith about it, and he simply shook his head and said, “Disgusting behavior.”
And, in fairness, it is disgusting behavior. You’re an athlete in Philadelphia, you play for the worst team in the city, and you choose to publicly take sides against the team that just won another championship?
Foolish, churlish nonsense from Tyrese Maxey. Especially coming off of a summer when trade rumors are swirling and the Sixers goodwill in the city fell to an all-time low.
Of course, he defended himself after the hate storm commenced, and I understand where he’s coming from. But, at the same time, he could have just kept his trap shut.
Serious question … I’m literally from Dallas Texas… How could yall even trust me if I became a full on eagles fan over the cowboys tho? 😂 I root for the eagles every week except 2 weeks out of the season!
