Eagles trade for Tank Bigsby, send 2026 picks to Jaguars
Howie Roseman just can’t help himself. The Eagles added another piece to the backfield, acquiring running back Tank Bigsby from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for 2026 fifth and sixth round picks.

The Move
Tank Bigsby was a third-round pick out of Auburn in 2023 and spent his first two seasons buried behind Travis Etienne in Jacksonville. He flashed some pretty solid skills but never had the opportunity to carve out his own unique role.
While it’s only been one week, this year was no different for Tank. Etienne got almost all of the workload in the Jags 26-10 win over the Panthers. Regardless, through three years, he’s logged 223 carries for 910 yards, 8 catches for 60 yards and has scored 9 touchdowns.
The Eagles clearly see him as more than just a depth piece.
With Will Shipley already banged up and AJ Dillon looking like a rotational option, adding Bigsby gives Philly a runner who can take some of the punishment off Saquon Barkley’s plate and also get some action on special teams as a kick returner.
This is what good teams do. The Eagles are in win-now mode, and Tank Bigsby is the type of low-risk, high-reward trade that could pay off in January.
If he turns into nothing, who cares. Howie burned a couple late-rounders. If he clicks, then the Birds have more help in the return game and another backfield piece to pair with Barkley.
