Expected: Chiefs social media team drops the ball ahead of rematch vs. Eagles on Sunday
The NFL handed football fans a gift in Week 2 with the Philadelphia Eagles traveling to Arrowhead for a Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs.
A Super Bowl “rematch” in Arrowhead, with all the drama you could ask for. Beautiful, really, and naturally, the Chiefs social media team wanted to hype it up with a post today on social media.

Here’s the problem:
Instead of using a photo from the actual Super Bowl last year, when the Eagles absolutely destroyed the Chiefs dynasty in a matter of three quarters, leaving scars all over their dying franchise, they opted to use a random photo of Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes after a regular season game in Arrowhead from a few years ago.
Cool.
I mean at the very least, it was a game that the Eagles won. The rest of The Liberty Line boys were in attendance. It was a rain-drenched night where Hurts and company pulled out a gutsy win and left Mahomes stunned.
So sure, use that photo instead of one from Super Bowl LIX. Hell, I would have respected one from the first Super Bowl matchup between them, but all we got is a regular season “hype post” from the Chiefs.
It’s almost like the Chiefs are pretending that one fateful night in New Orleans last February didn’t happen.
Not that anyone in Philly needs a reminder, but Jalen Hurts punched the Chiefs in the mouth on the biggest stage, and everyone watching knew who the better team was.
Hurts was carving them up through the air, our defense absolutely feasted at all three levels, and made Mahomes’ life miserable all night long.
That game is literally why this Week 2 matchup is being billed as a rematch.
So why wouldn’t you use an image that actually ties to the Super Bowl?
Hurts flexing after a touchdown. A.J. Brown cooking their secondary. Cooper DeJean’s pick 6? How about Jalen Carter punching Mahomes in the mouth?
I would have preferred any of those over what was posted. Instead, the Chiefs went with some random, watered-down regular season photo that means absolutely nothing.
Nasty work
Obviously, I’m joking… kinda.
The Chiefs want to forget what happened in Super Bowl LIX and you can’t really blame them. It was an embarrassment on the world stage so it’s best if they attempt to pretend like it never happened.
I will say, the Chiefs better be ready for Sunday. They looked like ass Week 1 against the Chargers and will almost certainly need to be better if they want a chance at revenge.
Eagles fans are a different breed and we are coming for your necks in Kansas City. Phans of Philly will have hundreds, if not thousands in attendance yet again.
