Eagles Vs. Chiefs: Vic Fangio should feast on Kansas City’s depleted offense

On paper, the Eagles defense — which struggled to slow down Dak Prescott at times in Week 1 — should feast on KC’s depleted offense this Sunday.

The Chiefs limp into Week 2 with their top weapons missing and Travis Kelce looking a little more mortal.

Rashee Rice is serving a six-game suspension after his offseason crash. Xavier Worthy, the second-year speed demon who piled up garbage-time stats in that Super Bowl, is nursing a dislocated shoulder from Week 1 and is unlikely to go. That leaves Patrick Mahomes throwing to Hollywood Brown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton, a trio that sounds scarier in 2019 than it does in 2025.

Eagles Secondary Should Feast on This Lineup

Hollywood Brown saw 16 targets in the opener and still couldn’t sync with Mahomes. JuJu hasn’t looked like JuJu since Pittsburgh. Thornton is a practice-squad story with a fast forty. This isn’t CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens — this is a collection of parts.

Even Travis Kelce, once the ultimate matchup nightmare, has been trending down for two straight seasons. He’s still good, but he’s no longer the guy who single-handedly bends coverages.

If the Eagles corners stay disciplined and Fangio’s plan is sound, there’s no reason they can’t lock this group down and make Mahomes play hero ball all afternoon.

This game is a chance to show the Super Bowl wasn’t a one-off. Clamp down on the depleted receiver room, limit Kelce, and force Mahomes to create something out of nothing. Do that, and the Eagles walk out of Arrowhead with another signature win and a clear message: the road to the Lombardi still runs through Philly.
