Kliff Kingsbury says any Commanders QB except Sam Hartman could marry his ‘hypothetical daughter’

Sam Hartman’s been called a lot of things over the years, Wake Forest star, Notre Dame’s golden boy, and now Washington Commanders quarterback. The one label that just won’t go away is “heartthrob.”

Fans call him dreamy, mothers swoon at training camp, and even Cris Carter once admitted during the Combine that Sam Hartman looked like he belonged on the cover of GQ. Now we’ve got Kliff Kingsbury, the Commanders’ offensive coordinator, adding to the chorus in one of the weirdest ways possible.

When asked about his QB room of Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota, Josh Johnson, and Sam Hartman, Kingsbury said that any of those guys could date his hypothetical daughter but not Hartman because he’s “too good looking.”

Kliff Kingsbury’s bizzare comment on Sam Hartman

“Just truly good guys that like each other. Across the board, I would let anybody in that room marry my hypothetical daughter except Hartman because he’s way too good looking, but just phenomenal people above all else, hard workers, professionals, and they’re truly a joy to be around every day.”

The room laughed. The internet laughed.

Personally, I thought it was incredibly weird. A grown man spinning out about his imaginary daughter potentially marrying his rookie quarterback because the kid is too attractive?

That’s a strange tangent to go on when you’re supposed to be coaching football and finding out how to win games without Jayden Daniels.

I’ll bite…wouldn’t you want your daughter to marry the best looking guy in the room? Sam Hartman is a clear favorite out of that bunch. Is Kliff sure about Jayden Daniels? How could he forget QB1’s mother last season refusing to let females get anywhere close to her son?

Anyways, I’m looking far too deep into this but I think it’s safe to say that this type of shit would never work in Philadelphia. And no, it’s not because Cooper DeJean has every girl in the Tri-State area in his DMs either.

Imagine an Nick Sirianni sitting in front of reporters talking about who could or couldn’t marry their hypothetical kid instead of breaking down game tape.

Thank god we have a guy like Sirianni that brings up his actual kids up to the podium and uses them as human shields against the media.

Personally, I find to be rather honorable and a much better use of children in the NFL media room but even then, he gets cooked alive for that.

Anyways, Kliff Kingsbury should probably spend less time in fantasy land with Sam Hartman and more time figuring out how to win football games. They are down Jayden Daniels and have the Raiders coming to D.C. tomorrow.

Marcus Mariota gets the start for the Commanders. In other NFL news, Carson Wentz will get the start for the Vikings as they welcome the Joe Burrow-less Bengals to Minnesota.

It’s Time: Carson Wentz expected to get the nod in wake of JJ McCarthy injury

Mariota and Wentz starting for NFL teams? In the year 2025? The Eagles QB Factory has always been elite but I don’t think anyone saw this one coming. What a world.
