Eagles’ Dom DiSandro hit with $75K fine for texting on the sidelines during the Jets’ preseason game

The NFL’s war on the Eagles has reached new levels of absurdity. This time, it’s not a player. It’s not a coach. It’s Big Dom.

According to Derrick Gunn, Eagles security chief Dom DiSandro got slapped with a $75,000 fine for texting from the bench area during the Jets’ preseason game.

The NFL does technically ban phones and personal electronic devices on the sidelines from 90 minutes before kickoff until the end of the game. Players, coaches, and staff are only allowed to use league-issued tablets for photos and replays.

The only exceptions are medical staff or operations people handling emergencies. Big Dom didn’t fit either of those boxes, and boom, another fat fine dropped on Philadelphia.

Of course, this isn’t Dom’s first run-in with the league office. Everyone remembers the infamous Dre Greenlaw incident in 2023, when Dom DiSandro stepped in after the 49ers linebacker got physical with DeVonta Smith.

The NFL responded by banning Big Dom from the sidelines and hitting the Eagles with a $100,000 fine. Now they’re right back in his wallet.

This whole thing feels ridiculous. Texting on the sideline is worth $75K?

The league is out here nickel-and-diming Philly while coaches around the NFL are publicly begging for penalties on the Tush Push because they can’t stop it. Maybe the NFL should spend less time policing Dom DiSandro’s thumbs and more time figuring out why their officiating is a weekly clown show.

Either way, Dom’s legend only grows. You fine him, you ban him, you try to erase him from the sideline and all it does is make him more iconic. Big Dom doesn’t need an iPad. Big Dom is the iPad.
