Rory McIlroy Bryson DeChambeau Ryder Cup

Rory McIlroy is already chirping Bryson DeChambeau, says he only gets attention when he mentions other golfers

It’s Ryder Cup week, which means everyone wearing blue and gold is the enemy. Rory McIlroy is the unanimous enemy number one in the eyes of any American patriot, so when he decided to take a little swipe at Bryson DeChambeau, calling him out for “chirping” before the matches even start, there’s blood in the water.

The Stage is Set at Bethpage Black for the 2025 Ryder Cup

Rory McIlroy on Bryson DeChambeau:

The only way he gets attention is by mentioning other people…

To get attention he will mention me or Scottie or others…

First off, Rory putting himself in the same breath as Scottie Scheffler is laughable.

Scottie Scheffler is on his own planet. The rest of the field or in this case teams, should tread lightly. The only guy Rory consistently name-drops more than Scottie is Brooks Koepka, and even then Rory can’t bring himself to say Brooks’ name half the time.

It just feels petty. Rory won the Masters this year. Congrats, brother. That’s still not enough to lump your name in Scottie Scheffler’s category.

On that note, I have said for MONTHS that it’s a Ryder Cup year and that celebrating guys like Rory McIlroy as an American would come back to bite us. We have officially arrived to that moment.

As for Bryson DeChambeau, he’s 1-0 without even swinging a club. All he had to say is that he wanted Rory McIlroy at the Ryder Cup and suddenly, Rory McIlroy is in shambles, doing whatever he can to respond to those comments which by the way, were made months ago.

Also, Bryson has like a BILLION followers on social media. The attention is there already.

You can’t convince me he didn’t get rattled by the thought of Bryson DeChambeau in his ear for five hours. Let me tell you right now. Rory McIlroy will be revealed as soft when the heat gets turned up at Bethpage Black later this week.

The Europeans crying about Americans being assholes?

No shit, guys. We literally do not care, either. In fact, Americans, specifically the ones attending the Ryder Cup at Bethpage, will embrace it.

Let Bryson go full heel. Hell, get Michael Jordan out there with Keegan Bradley to help tag-team Rory with trash talk. Bring the noise. Make it miserable.

While we are probably looking at Scottie vs Rory on Sunday for singles, I wouldn’t be opposed to Bryson DeChambeau getting that draw.

We’ll see how the first few days shake out of course, but why not stick Bryson in that spot and set the tone for the entire day.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not in the company of saying that Scottie is “too polite” to handle Rory in singles, but having Bryson and all that energy staring down the Euros on the final day is energy the Americans might need to to defend Bethpage.

If Rory’s already losing sleep over Bryson talking about chirping him, imagine what happens when Bryson actually starts doing it.
