Breakdown: Tyler Phillips and Alec Bohm interaction during last night’s Marlins-Phillies game
In case you missed it last night, Tyler Phillips caught a ball that Alec Bohm scalded to end the inning. He walked off the mound and then fired the ball back behind him. It went in the vicinity of Bohm, who did not seem to appreciate it.
Let’s break it down.
Alec Bohm let the Phillies Bat Boy to the Dirty Work
Honestly, I know I shouldn’t say it because we’re just five games out of Red October but the fact that Alec Bohm stood there and didn’t turn around to face Tyler Phillips after the incident is pretty soft.
It’s no secret that Tyler Phillips is a psycho. He also went on record after the game saying that Alec Bohm was always nice to him when he was a member of the Phillies and that he was simply throwing the baseball back to the mound because he didn’t know what to do with it.Â
At the same time, that’s kind of bullshit too. Tyler Phillips is constantly looking to cause problems on the mound and it’s working for him. I have no problem with it. At least he’s a dawg out there.
I just can’t get over how soft Alec Bohm looked in the moment.
You could tell he wanted nothing to do with the entire situation but felt that he had to say something or else it would appear that he got punk’d by Phillips.Â
He should have reacted any other way than the way he did, in my humble opinion.
Don’t get me wrong, Bohmer has been great since returning from injury and he’s a massive piece to the Phillies Red October Puzzle, but you can’t have the bat boy being the one looking Phillips dead in the eye while you stand there confused.
Alec Bohm returned to the Phillies on fire, just in time for Red October
This has been an on-going issue with Alec Bohm. I want to believe that he has the Dawg in him but time and time again, he proves that he’s nothing but a little puppy dog instead.
