Kyle Lowry is somehow still on the Sixers’ roster while also landing a gig as Amazon Prime’s newest NBA analyst
Kyle Lowry’s pulling double duty this season. The Sixers brought him back on a one-year deal for his 20th season, and Amazon Prime just announced he’ll also be joining their NBA coverage team when they officially take over in 2025-26.
Kyle Lowry joins Amazon Prime as an NBA Analyst
Everyone knows that Kyle Lowry’s role in Philly is pretty clear these days.
He’s basically a player-coach and barely played last year. The vet appeared in just 35 games, averaging 3.9 points and 2.7 assists.
There’s an argument to be made that it’s good to have a guy like Kyle Lowry on the bench. He knows Nick Nurse’s playbook like the back of his hand from their Toronto days and is one of the smartest guards of his generation. His value comes from being a mentor for guys like Jared McCain, and the rest of the younger Sixers.
I’m still in the camp that Lowry should probably just go full-time on TV already. He has always had the personality and basketball IQ to crush it on a broadcast desk, and it feels like he’s setting himself up for a seamless post-playing career.
For now, though, Philly gets him as the locker room vet while Amazon gets him as the future face of their NBA coverage. Not a bad way to ride out Year 20.
