Disgusting Behavior: Rory McIlroy tells Bethpage crowd to “shut the f*** up”

So much for Europe being the “classy” side of this Ryder Cup. Rory McIlroy, their golden boy, their squeaky-clean star, stood on American soil and told hardworking fans at Bethpage to “shut the fuck up.”

Absolutely disgusting. This isn’t a bar fight, it’s the Ryder Cup, and watching Rory unravel like this in front of the New York gallery is as unprofessional as it gets.

This is a dark pattern for the Europeans. Rory’s body guard, who I’m pretty sure he calls “daddy”, Shane Lowry, was also cursing at hard working Americans in the gallery.

Have they no shame? Ridiculous behavior.

It was only two years ago that Rory nearly came to blows with a U.S. caddie in Rome, screaming and pointing like he was about to take it outside the parking lot of a Wawa.

Now he’s at Bethpage barking profanities at the same crowd the media has been lecturing us about for months. “Keep it respectful,” they said. “Don’t be classless,” they said.

Meanwhile, Rory is the one dropping F-bombs, directed at fans, in the middle of play.

At some point, Luke Donald has to step in. If Europe is really about “integrity” and “sportsmanship,” then their captain needs to bench Rory until he remembers this is golf, not a soccer game.

Obviously, I’m kidding.

Yes, the Bethpage crowd is fired up. Is it fucked up when you’re chirping players while they are standing over their golf ball?

Probably. Do I care? Absolutely not.

The Americans need something to get the Ryder Cup going. It’s not happening on the greens, outside this putt from Captain America, Cam Young.

  4. What a load of salty shite. He wouldn’t need to tell them to STFU if they weren’t insulting them and their families. Insulting families is way below any level you would expect from any half decent, let alone decent, golf fans. Absolute scum of the earth who got a fully justified response from McIlroy. It’s just a shame it wasn’t 1 on 1 because McIlroy would have sat them on the floor and they would then run home to mummy in tears. Absolute pricks the lot of them
