Travis Kelce tries to scold AJ Brown over his frustrations and Jason Kelce claps back

Welcome to Philly, where winning isn’t enough and the smallest bit of social media smoke turns into a five-alarm fire. The Eagles are sitting at 4-0 heading into Week 5, one of only two undefeated teams in the NFL, and yet somehow the conversation is still about AJ Brown sending a cryptic tweet.

Something along these lines happens every single year. I assume it’s because September football in the NFL is basically the new preseason, which causes fans and the media to be overly critical of everything.

The facts remain that AJ Brown is a competitor and he’s emotional because he cares. Instead of dragging him, we should be recognizing the fact that he’s still putting the team first, even when his stat line isn’t what fans expect.

The “drama” that got everyone talking

After finishing Week 4 against Tampa Bay with just two catches for seven yards, Brown posted on social media. It was a biblical verse about not being welcomed and how it’s better off to shrug your shoulders and walk away.

Fine. Whatever.

Of course, that one post was enough for every talking head to run wild with speculation. Was he mad at Nick Sirianni? Jalen Hurts? The play calling? The cafeteria menu at NovaCare? Who knows.

What I do know is that a guy frustrated with only one touchdown through four weeks isn’t some shocking revelation. He’s one of the best receivers in the league, and he knows what he brings to an offense.

Travis Kelce steps in with his two cents on the AJ Brown situation

“You’re 4-0, boss. Come on, man.”

There’s something about Travis’ statement but at the same time, it’s really all about everything I said above when discussing AJ Brown. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that a Top 3 WR in the league and Super Bowl Champion wants the football in his hands.

Jason Kelce claps back

That’s the truth. Jason gets it because he’s seen Brown up close. This isn’t diva behavior, it’s accountability. It’s a guy who knows he can swing games and wants that responsibility.

Even Travis admits it

To be fair, Travis eventually softened up, admitting he’s been frustrated in the past too:

“It’s frustrating for A.J. right now… I can’t say I’ve never gotten frustrated and lashed out. We all love the f—ing game. We all want to win, and we all want to have fun doing it.”

Exactly. So why are we pretending this is some crisis?

Look, AJ Brown is the exact kind of guy you want on your team. He’s hungry. He wants the ball. He wants to dominate. If you think that’s a problem, you don’t understand Philly.

Leaders aren’t perfect. They’re emotional. They’re fiery. They care. And AJ Brown, no matter what Travis Kelce says on a podcast, is a leader and a winner — period.

As a matter of fact, shouldn’t Travis Kelce take notes here? I mean he and his team got embarrassed by the Eagles in the Super Bowl. And it seems like he just doesn’t care. He’s gone soft or something like that.
