Embarrassing: Broncos celebrate ‘signature win’ over Eagles by hotboxing the locker room
The Denver Broncos snapped the Philadelphia Eagles’ winning streak with a 21-17 victory on the road. It was a wacky game with some serious referee shenanigans, but Denver deemed it best to act like they just won a championship after the final whistle.
The Broncos treated this game like their Super Bowl in every possible sense:

First off, let me extend some credit to the Broncos. Sure, the Eagles got hosed on four or five penalties in high-leverage moments, but Denver took full advantage of their opportunities.
It certainly didn’t help that the Eagles’ offensive line had the structural integrity of balsa wood, either. Vance Joseph dialed up some nasty pass-rush concepts that never let Hurts get in rhythm in the second half.
That being said, this celebration a colossal embarrassment on their part. Getting a “signature win” in Week 5 in large part to the watchful eyes of Roger Goodell and his Las Vegas overlords and treating it like you won the Super Bowl is something I can’t even fathom.
I get that they’re excited to beat the reigning champs, but I think they’ve got to pump the brakes a bit here. Maybe save the cigars for a win in February instead of October? Just a thought.
UPDATE: It’s been brought to my attention that this is a Sean Payton tradition called Club Dub. Sadly, I didn’t know this because the teams he’s coached haven’t been remotely relevant, and I’ve been busy watching the Eagles win Super Bowls over the last decade. Mea culpa.
