Sean Brace OUT at iHeartRadio as broad layoffs hit iHeartMedia ahead of Q3 Earnings Report

Quick Philly Sports Talk Radio update today on our good friend Sean Brace, who reportedly got caught up in a round of broad layoffs over at iHeartMedia and more specifically, Fox Sports The Gambler.

Sean Brace OUT at iHeartRadio:

According to reports, Sean Brace’s departure was part of a larger layoff round that took place across iHeart’s properties.

In Philadelphia, MutahKnows, the host of the Rise & Grind Morning Show on Power 99 was also let go. “Who gets to come back from vacation and hear the dreaded ‘we’re going in a different direction’ speech? Yours truly after 14.5 years of faithful service,” he shared on social media. Sean Brace, Program Director and host of Fox Sports The Gambler Philadelphia confirmed he was among those impacted and thanked the community for support since launching the station in 2019.

Sean Brace had been hosting The Daily Ticket at The Gambler for nearly seven years. The news about Brace, The Gambler, and iHeart in general hits home for The Liberty Line. When we first launched the website, there was one “industry guy” that reached out to us, almost immediately, to get involved with what we were trying to build.

That man was Sean Brace.

Honestly, I thought he was insane for jumping into bed with a bunch of dudes who literally spun up a website and at the time, had zero clue what we were doing.

We’re talking in the middle of COVID, being handed our own radio show (Shoutout Liberty Line Radio) and we barely had our own microphones or equipment to record anything. Brace had us on his own programs, brought us around to local events, and supported us to the fullest from day one.

That relationship turned out to be the most valuable one we have ever formed in our five years of existence. Sean Brace always believed in us and I speak for everyone here at The Liberty Line in saying that we will be forever grateful for his love and support.

The Next Move…

Honestly, I think Brace should get back in the saddle with Jon Marks over on 97.5 The Fanatic. To date, the last time Philly Sports Talk Radio in my opinion, was a good product, is when Sean Brace and Jon Marks were on the airwaves together.

I already told Brace to make it happen. No sure what his next steps are, but I have zero down that he will find success in any path he takes.

Jon Marks returns to 97.5 the Fanatic to take over Middays

Cheers to Fox Sports The Gambler, iHeart, and Sean Brace. Thanks again for believing in us from DAY ONE. We are forever grateful my friend. Talk soon.

As always, we leave the Radio Wars news rightfully in the hands of Crossing Broad. They dropped a bunch of updates this morning, which you can read here.
