Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner, and Bryce Harper were getting roasted after the first two games of this series and deservedly so. They went a combined 2-for-21 with one RBI and 11 strikeouts, looking completely lost as the Phillies fell into an 0–2 hole.

The vibes heading west were brutal.

It felt like the core were walking into Game 3 with their legacies on the line. Credit where it’s due they answered.

In a must-win spot, Kyle Schwarber, Turner, and Harper combined to go 7-for-13 with 5 RBI and including two Schwarbombs that blew the game wide open.

That’s the response the city needed.

That’s what Red October is supposed to feel like. Kyle Schwarber’s first home run set the tone. Turner followed up with an RBI knock.

Then Schwarber came back for seconds with another blast that felt like a spiritual awakening — not just for Max Kepler but for the entire Phillies clubhouse and fanbase.

The vibes flipped instantly.

Meanwhile, Rob Thomson actually stuck to his plan and it worked. Aaron Nola gave the Phillies two clean innings before turning it over to Ranger Suárez, who after giving up a homer on his very first pitch, locked in and shoved for the next five.

That set the table for the offense to finally break it open in the 8th, sparing Jhoan Duran for Game 4 and letting Orion Kerkering, Taijuan Walker, and Tanner Banks close the night.

The Dodgers swore they wouldn’t let the Phillies catch fire. Instead, they poured gasoline all over the series.

Tonight: Cristopher “The Sanchize” Sánchez vs. Tyler Glasnow, who didn’t survive the second inning in Game 1 and owns a 5.51 career postseason ERA.
