Chad Johnson gives DeVonta Smith’s McDonald’s pregame ritual his stamp of approval

Everyone has their pregame rituals, and for DeVonta Smith, that ritual runs straight through the golden arches. Before suiting up on Sundays, Smitty hits McDonald’s for a sweet, glorious Mickey D’s breakfast. And honestly, it doesn’t get any better than that.

We’re talking a McGriddle, crispy hash browns, and a cold orange juice to tie it all together. Elite pregame fuel. I’m getting hungry just writing this. And for those of us who grew up in the 2000s, we know DeVonta isn’t exactly blazing a new trail here — another legendary wideout made this pilgrimage before him.

Chad Johnson was the original McDonald’s disciple, proudly fueling up on fast food long before it was trendy. And once he caught wind that DeVonta Smith is carrying the torch, Ocho Cinco didn’t just approve, he stamped it with Hall of Fame-level certification.

McDonald’s gets a bad rap. Sure, if you’re shoveling it down every day like a feral raccoon, your arteries might stage a revolt. But let’s be normal adults here — once a week isn’t going to kill you. Especially if it’s pregame fuel or a well-earned treat.

Personally, I’m a post-night-of-drinking McDonald’s enjoyer. Nothing brings a man back from the dead quite like a greasy sausage, egg and cheese from McDick’s. You know I’m right. Toss in two hash browns and an ice-cold beverage, and suddenly my hangover is gone, my spirit is restored, and I’m pretty sure I’ve tasted a piece of heaven.
