Giants reporters attempt to bait Darius Slayton into taking shots at Eagles fans when asking him about giving ‘advice’ to Jaxson Dart playing in Philly
Giants wideout Darius Slayton was asked if he was worried about his rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart playing in Philadelphia on Sunday, which is hilarious when you think about it.
Somehow, Eagles fans have been called a lot of negative things things over the years and while some of it’s valid, it’s hard to look kindly on any of it when week-after-week, other fanbases are beating the crap out of each other in the stands.
When’s the last time that happened at The Linc?
Was it 76ers’ legend Mike Scott fighting those morons tailgating? I don’t know and I’m pretty much at every home game dating back to 2010. I can confidently say you can tailgate all morning, scream yourself hoarse, and still not need a “survival briefing” from your teammate before kickoff.
Anyways, this is really on whatever reporter thought that it was a good question to begin with. Darius Slayton told reporters this week that he’s trying to help Jaxson Dart prepare for the “hostile environment” in Philly ahead of Sunday’s game.
Slayton, returning from a hamstring injury that sidelined him earlier this month was answering questions from reporters who apparently thought the Giants were about to go play a football game in the Gaza.
Darius Slayton on advice he’d give Jaxson Dart on going into Philadelphia as a visitor:
“Obviously, we played a pretty solid game against them a few weeks ago,” Slayton said. “We’re going to try to go out there and replicate that again. Whether it’s home or away, it’s kind of irrelevant. You want to go out there and play a sound football game, but obviously, it would be great to beat them at their place.”
The media will stop at nothing to create a narrative that doesn’t exist.
Honestly, I think we have to give Darius Slayton some props here for calling the question irrelevant. The media apparently believes that Jaxson Dart needs to train for psychological warfare when really, he just needs to read the coverage and get rid of the ball before Jalen Carter eats him alive.
Again, I go to pretty much every Eagles home game. It’s rowdy for sure, but I would just consider myself and Eagles fans passionate over anything else. It’s definitely not “dangerous.”
The worst thing that’s gonna happen to you is some guy in a Brian Dawkins jersey yelling, “DART’S A FRAUD!” or some kids screaming “67” while a bunch of middle-aged dudes talk about how ridiculously hot Jaxson Dart’s mom is, which for the record, are all true statements.
It’s football, baby. Welcome to the NFC East.
The New York media needs to stop asking dumb questions. Even Darius Slayton called it irrelevant. I’m asking for Giants beat reporters to have some dignity, that’s all.
Plus, I don’t think Jaxson Dart or his CTE buddy Cam Skattebo will give a shit about anything happening in the stands on Sunday but I truly do hope that Eagles fans and the team themselves make their lives absolutely miserable by any means necessary.
