Michael Carter left $5M on the table just to join Eagles
On Wednesday, the Eagles traded for Jets corner Michael Carter, sending New York wideout John Metchie and a 2026 seventh-round pick.
Following the trade, we learned that Carter wanted out of New York by any means possible. Can you really blame him? The one-win Jets gave him a $5M guarantee in his contract in case of injury. To complete the trade and join the champs, Carter just deleted the guaranteed money out of his deal.
Michael Carter wanted to be an Eagle in the worst way possible
This is the type of stuff Eagles fans eat up, me included. The guy just wants an opportunity to win a Super Bowl. And lord knows he has a better chance to do that here than in New York.
Carter figures to slide in right at CB2, with Cooper DeJean still manning the nickel role. That could change as we approach the postseason, but as of now, that seems to be the plan.
