Brandon McManus Game-Tying Field Goal Attempt Eagles Packers

Brandon McManus just gave the Packers the worst game-tying field goal attempt in NFL history

The Philadelphia Eagles survived Lambeau Field with a 10-7 win over the Green Bay Packers. It was a game that could have been tied in the final seconds but Brandon McManus, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this, might have delivered the worst game-tying field goal attempt in NFL history.

The Eagles were up 10-7 after Jalen Hurts found DeVonta Smith for a 36-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Josh Jacobs punched one in late to bring the Packers within three, but Green Bay couldn’t get anything else going.

With just seconds left, the Packers lined up for a 64-yard field goal attempt to send it to overtime. The Eagles called a timeout to ice McManus, and he went ahead and kicked one anyway.

Even that attempt landed about five yards short. No problem, right? Just shake it off, regroup, and hit the next one.

Except this time, McManus looked like he was trying to kick the football horizontally into into the stands. The snap wasn’t even bad, the timing didn’t seem off either.

The football came off his foot like he was aiming for Section 119. It was an outright shank and the kind of miss that makes you wonder if he bet against himself.

Brandon McManus game-tying field goal attempt:

Eagles fans exhaled as the team escaped with a win and improved to 7-2 on the year, their third straight victory.

Meanwhile, the Packers dropped to 5-3-1, losing back-to-back games at home and as if Green Bay needed another gut punch, McManus has now missed at least one field goal in three straight games, dropping to 11-for-17 on the season.

Brandon McManus literally kicked the ball out of frame

Look, it was a 64-yarder in freezing Lambeau conditions with the wind against him but still… you can’t miss that badly. That was basically a tee shot gone wrong at Topgolf.

The craziest part? The Eagles almost handed Green Bay the chance to do it.

On 4th-and-3 from the Packers’ 35-yard line, Philadelphia went for it instead of punting. Hurts’ pass to A.J. Brown was broken up, giving Jordan Love and company a prayer. That prayer ended with Brandon McManus sending the ball to Mars.

Final score: Eagles 10, Packers 7.
