Moro Ojomo is one of the best DTs in football, and the numbers back it up

Eagles GM Howie Roseman let key guys on the defensive line walk this past offseason, and it looks like his gamble has paid off with Moro Ojomo putting together an excellent season. We saw flashes of his talent last year, but with increased snaps, his numbers are even more eye-popping.

Moro Ojomo is playing like one of the best DTs in football:

What a beast this guy has been. I won’t lie, despite his impressive showings throughout last season, I was a little apprehensive about the DT situation with “Hurricane” Milton Williams heading to New England.

Sure, Ojomo had the best pass rush win rate in Super Bowl LIX. But were we really going to compete with a 7th-rounder lining up next to Jalen Carter?

Of course, those fears have been assuaged in full by his production so far. The Nigerian Nightmare has been shredding opposing offensive lines all year. Is some of that due to the Jalen Carter Effect? I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t, but his mind for the game has been invaluable alongside his skill as a player.

That Football IQ was on full display against the Green Bay Packers. On a crucial 4th and 1, Moro Ojomo knew the exact playcall that was coming, and the Pack were powerless to stop it.

On top of all of this, he’s a tremendous guy. My sister bartended for him a couple of times out on the Main Line and had nothing but nice things to say. And this is coming from the same girl who called Jonathan Gannon out for ordering a margarita with the most expensive tequila on the menu as some sort of gauche flex.

So, yeah, it’s hard not to be stoked on a physical freak with high football IQ that also happens to be a solid dude. Howie Roseman put his faith in a 7th-rounder, and it’s paying dividends. Why did I ever doubt this guy?

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
