Packers visiting locker rooms

The Green Bay Packers visiting locker rooms at Lambeau Field have gone viral

I know we’re a little late to be talking about the Eagles Week 10 win over the Green Bay Packers but my algorithm keeps hitting me with this clip of Nick Sirianni in the visiting locker room at Lambeau Field.

Green Bay Packers Home Locker Room vs Visiting Locker Room

I’m not oblivious to the fact that visiting locker rooms are always significantly worse than the home team’s facilities. I understand it and honestly, I respect the move. I don’t think any visiting team should feel comfortable when they come to play in your house.

For me, the Packers’ visiting locker room was glaring because of the low ceilings. It doesn’t help when Jordan Mailata and the rest of the Eagles big men are all stuffed in there either, but when you look at that video and then see the pictures of the home team’s facilities, that’s where things go off the rails.

I know down in Miami, the Dolphins have the visiting sidelines directly in-line with the Florida sun. Much like the Packers, I’m sure every visiting team has to endure similar environments on the road. Hell, the Chicago Bears visiting locker room is basically a hallway with some cubbies.

There is a case to be made that once there’s a level of standard for visiting team amenities, it’s going to have a domino effect of even worse conditions as teams continue to travel.

People want to bring up “respecting your opponent” and all that nonsense but how are you supposed to do that? It turns into mutually destructive war. No one is going to be happy but again, maybe that’s the way it should be.

Your enemy shouldn’t get the white glove treatment.

The NFL allows organizations to do this. To what extent? I’m not quite sure but I would definitely push the limits. I would kill the electricity and force opposing teams who come to South Philly sit in candlelight and drink out of troughs.

Sure, that might be for my own sick pleasures, but I have zero doubt that it would be a bonding experience and unite a locker room.
