Embarrassing: ESPN’s graphic for Cowboys-Raiders on MNF is one of the worst ever made
In a world of rapid advancement in the arts and graphic design, ESPN has brought the entire apparatus to a screeching halt. The graphic they produced promoting the MNF matchup between the Cowboys and the Raiders has genuinely caused irreparable damage to the state of American culture as a whole.
ESPN half-assed this graphic and then some:

I mean, wow. That is absolutely horrendous.
Don’t get me wrong, I know that I am TLL’s resident photoshop artist and routinely produce some of the worst photoshop jobs known to man, but I’m just a dude in a Fishtown one-bedroom with access to a computer. ESPN is the alleged worldwide leader in sports, but somehow managed to drop some of the most vile slop ever exported from a design program.
Considering the pervasiveness of AI in the graphic design space, I’m at least glad to see none was used here. But, at the same time, they probably should have just had AI do it instead of some intern who can only use Preview on his MacBook Air.
The execution is just not up to snuff. Ashton Jeanty is hitting Dak Prescott with a dive bomb maneuver while balancing on one foot. The lightning in the background could not be more ridiculous. Plus, Dak Prescott looks like a jackass.
Okay, that last one can’t be helped, but what can be helped is ESPN getting someone to make these graphics who actually knows how to do anything. Will that happen? Hopefully, the mobilization of shame stemming from this faux pas will enact some change in their social room.
