Jordan Davis wins NFC Defensive Player of the Week, makes Eagles history
Jordan Davis has been nothing short of phenomenal for the Eagles in 2025. He already won Special Teams Player of the Week against the Rams for his late-game heroics, and took home defensive honors this week for his role in shutting down the Lions’ vaunted offense.
Jordan Davis is the first player in Eagles history to win both awards in the same season:

I’ve always liked Jordan Davis, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have some doubts about him since he joined the team. Popular concerns were his weight, conditioning, and effectiveness in the pass rush.
After a solid season last year, he’s shed some pounds and has become a beast in the trenches for the Eagles. Hell, he batted three passes at the line of scrimmage against the Lions, with one of those ending up in the hands of Cooper DeJean for a pivotal interception.
Combine that with three sacks on the year so far and his electrifying last-second touchdown to beat the Rams, and he’s had quite the 2025 season. It’s also hilarious that he’s noticeably slimmed down and still weighed in at 336lbs when he ran that blocked kick back for a TD.
Ok I lied…

THIS might be the greatest angle of Jordan Davis’ walk off blocked field goal. This is unreal.
S/O whoever is filming for the steady hands during the absolute chaos that took place lmao pic.twitter.com/Cuh8NHYOWY
This is exactly the kind of leap the Eagles front office and fans were hoping for from Davis. Sure, if this continues, he’s going to command a heavy pay raise for his second contract. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.
