DeVonta Smith responds to Jalen Hurts “frustration” rumors, continues to confirm what everyone should already know… it’s all made up nonsense from the media

DeVonta Smith was asked about the latest “Eagles are frustrated with Jalen Hurts” storyline and he basically shut it down immediately.

DeVonta Smith with John Clark:

“I think we are all frustrated that the offense is not playing to the standard we have.”

That is it. That is the whole quote. Somehow this is now being treated like a revelation. The offense is struggling and the players know it.

Congratulations to everyone involved. Water is wet. Let me break this down one last time for those who are still struggling to follow the timeline of events.

This entire thing started with AJ Brown.

He publicly said he wanted the ball more. Everyone freaked out, claimed he was turning into a diva, and insisted there was “tension.” Then he explained himself and everyone agreed he was right. End of story.

The media lost that one, so they needed a new target.

Suddenly the frustration spotlight spins to Jalen Hurts and reporters come sprinting out like they found the next great scandal.

A report from The Athletic, with Derrick Gunn chiming in, claimed the coaching staff and players are “frustrated” with Hurts being hesitant against zone coverage.

Apparently Hurts is “playing his game” instead of executing the game plan. That launched the next phase of the script which is always the same around here.

The Classic Media Playbook

• Offense struggles.
• Media gets bored.
• Media blames quarterback.
• Media creates tension.
• Media covers tension they invented.
• Media allows the story to breathe for 48 hours.
• Media waits for fans to hate click content.

This is the most predictable cycle in Philadelphia.

I mean seriously, am I losing my mind?

Nick Sirianni got in front of a microphone and basically called the entire thing nonsense. Jordan Mailata said the report was crazy. Hurts said he has not heard a single complaint from anyone inside the building and the only time he even thinks about any of this is when he is forced to stand in front of the media and answer questions about it.

AJ Brown is frustrated. DeVonta Smith says everyone is frustrated with the offense but nobody is frustrated with Jalen.

It is not complicated.

TO BE VERY CLEAR ON WHAT’S HAPPENING:

• The media created a situation.
• The media reported on the situation they created.
• The media kept reporting on the situation
• The players denied the situation existed at every turn.

Nothing is actually happening inside the locker room. Nothing has changed. Nothing is falling apart. Everyone knows the offense is struggling. Everyone knows Hurts has missed throws.

Everyone knows the offensive line is banged up beyond recognition. Everyone knows Saquon Barkley cannot find a clean lane to save his life behind this unit. Everyone knows AJ Brown wants the ball because he is one of the best players alive.

Hell… even DeVonta Smith who all things considered is having a great season. wants nothing to do with the bullshit either.

All of that is true. None of it matches what the media is selling.

The only drama existing inside the NovaCare Complex right now is the struggle to fix the offense. That is it. The team’s actual issues are on the field, not in the locker room.

Meanwhile the media is out here running laps on imaginary storylines and trying to get fans worked up because they do not have anything else new to say about an 8-2 team. DeVonta Smith sees it. The players see it. Nick Sirianni sees it. Jalen Hurts definitely sees it. Eagles fans need to see it too.
