WATCH: Cooper DeJean’s bogus PI call captured quite the Eagles sideline reaction
Cooper DeJean PI and a tale of two halves. At this point, it might as well be the tagline for the 2025 Philadelphia Eagles. The Birds came out swinging, punched Dallas in the mouth, built a 21 point lead, and looked ready to run the Cowboys straight into the Gulf of America.
Then the second half hit, and everything collapsed.
To be clear, the Eagles defense was out there fighting for their lives. Half the secondary was held together with tape and energy drinks. Guys were limping, switching positions on the fly, and yelling coverage adjustments like they were calling plays at a pickup game.
They were exhausted and just hanging on for dear life. To their credit, it actually worked and somehow they still held the line, right up until the refs decided to take the wheel.
I’m not blaming the entire 21 point collapse on the officials, but this was the moment it felt like the game flipped. Dallas scores. Crowd explodes.
The energy in the building shifts. Every Eagles player looks like they just stared directly into the sun. My own joy was gone instantly, ripped out of my body like a wisdom tooth.

The Cooper DeJean PI Call Might Be the Worst You’ll Ever See
Watching that pass interference call unfold in real time was infuriating. Watching it again was downright insulting. CeeDee Lamb, who spent most of the night dropping footballs like they were coated in motor oil, gets bailed out by the crew.
The official standing two feet away didn’t give us anything. Not a blink. Not a flinch. Calls it like CeeDee didn’t extend his arm straight into Cooper DeJean’s chest.
It almost felt personal.
Cooper DeJean had already been through hell all night. Injuries across the secondary forced him to bounce between spots like he was speed-running a defensive backs seminar. And every time he made a play, he got punished for it.
This one was devastating.

The AT&T Stadium Jumbo Tron Exposed the Call in 8K
Credit where it’s due. The AT&T Stadium screen is so big you could probably watch it from Oklahoma. The moment the replay went up, our entire section froze.
Cowboys fans, Eagles fans, random tourists who probably wandered in by accident. Everyone reacted the same way.
“Oh damn… that’s not PI.”
That’s when I knew this crew was cooked. When Cowboys fans won’t even fake a cheer for a flag, you know the call was awful.
I swear you could feel the awkward silence in the air. Some Dallas fans even shrugged like, “Yeah… that’s tough.” They knew they got gifted one.
You want to talk about NFL officiating being at an all time low? This is Exhibit A.
Massive screen, crystal clear replay, and still a brutal call that changed the momentum of the entire game. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Jumbo Tron also caught Jake Elliott on the sideline reacting like someone just told him Santa Claus wasn’t real.
Perfect view. Terrible moment. The Eagles blew it, the refs helped and Dallas stole one.
Welcome to the 2025 season.
