Keegan Bradley runs the table able at the first Skins Game since 2008

Golf needed a little fun after months of drama, lawsuits, boardrooms, and people yelling about “the future of the sport.” The Skins Game returned on Black Friday and immediately reminded everyone that golf is allowed to just be entertaining.

Four guys, stupid amounts of money, and vibes that felt more like a backyard money match than a televised event. Beautiful.

Keegan Bradley walked into Panther National and walked out $2.1 million richer after racking up 11 skins in only 16 holes.

Not a bad way to burn off Thanksgiving dinner.

His biggest moment came at the par-3 13th, where he flighted a 5-iron from 165 yards and stuffed it to 10 feet for a birdie worth four skins and $900,000. That was the richest skin ever awarded in the event.

Bradley’s record lasted all of about three holes. On the finale, Tommy Fleetwood buried a birdie putt for three skins and $1,125,000, resetting the bar and cashing in on the most valuable putt he will likely hit all year.

Fleetwood finished with four skins and a cool $1.7 million.

Shane Lowry chipped in a skin of his own for $200,000.

Meanwhile, Xander Schauffele finished with nothing on the board, but he somehow managed to be the star anyway. Between his chirping, impressions, and general chaos, he basically turned the broadcast into his own variety show. Zero skins, maximum entertainment.

The revived Skins Game worked. It was fun, loose, competitive, and exactly the kind of event golf should embrace more often.
