Jalen Hurts Tanner McKee Joe Giglio

Joe Giglio is ‘privately wondering’ if the Eagles offense would be better with Tanner McKee over Jalen Hurts, live on Philly Sports Talk Radio, 94.1 WIP

Someone in Philadelphia needs to pull Joe Giglio aside for a wellness check, because the anti-Jalen Hurts propaganda he is pushing on the radio right now is getting unhinged.

For whatever reason, the city’s most-hatable radio host is “privately wondering” if Tanner McKee would run the Eagles offense better than Jalen Hurts, live on air, on 94.1 WIP.

Joe Giglio “privately wondering” about the Eagles’ offense with Tanner McKee

Again, Joe Giglio isn’t privately wondering about shit. He’s literally on the radio spewing nonsense that the Eagles offense would be better off if Tanner McKee is under center over Jalen Hurts. I feel like I’m going crazy right now.

The Eagles are 8-4. Not 2-10. Not begging for a spark. They are 8-4 in a season where the issues have been obvious and rooted in coaching, injuries, and regression. The offense has been predictable and scaled down.

The offensive line has been inconsistent and banged up. The coordinator looks overmatched on a weekly basis. Yes, Jalen Hurts has not been at his MVP level.

None of that equals “bench your franchise quarterback for a backup.” Tanner McKee is a young, developmental quarterback with zero real NFL experience in meaningful games.

He is not stepping in and magically fixing an offense that is structurally broken. Putting him out there behind this line and with this staff would not make the team better. It would put him in danger and give you absolutely nothing in return.

Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts has been to two Super Bowls in three years. He won one in New Orleans last year and was the Super Bowl MVP. He nearly dragged the Eagles to another championship before that.

Jalen Hurts has led the most successful stretch of Eagles football since the early 2000s but now suddenly, because the offense is sputtering, the answer is Tanner McKee?

Come on, man. Absolutely not.

Hurts has issues right now. The turnovers are real. The hesitancy is real. The misreads are real. He is not the core problem. The problems are coaching. The problems are protection. The problems are play design. The problems are philosophical and inserting Tanner McKee into that mess would not solve a single thing.

Do I wonder if Tanner McKee is a better option?

No the fuck I do not. Neither should anyone who has watched football with both eyes open for longer than five minutes.

This is Philly Sports Talk Radio clownery at its peak. Manufacturing a quarterback controversy because the phone lines get hotter when you say something insane.

The Eagles need adjustments. They need coaching. They need continuity. They need discipline. They do not need Joe Giglio’s fantasy scenario where Jalen Hurts is holding the team hostage and Tanner McKee is the secret savior.

Enough.
