Rumor: Mary Kate Cornett may or may not have had a fling with disgraced Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin
Sometimes, an internet theory is so obvious that everyone collectively misses it. Mary Kate Cornett, the Ole Miss student who allegedly cheated on her boyfriend with his dad, is at the center of yet another rumor. One involving disgraced Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin.
Rumor has it Lane and Mary were a “thing,” and now Kiffin bolts for LSU while Mary Kate purges her Instagram — breakup photos, boyfriend wiped, the whole nine yards.
Let me be perfectly clear before anyone jumps into the comments with something idiotic that I won’t read anyway — yes, this is probably fake. But we must confront one simple truth: are we above dumb internet rumors? If you’re reading this, the answer is absolutely not. And I’m clearly not above them either, because I’m spending my morning typing this.
You’re just as sick and twisted as I am — don’t forget that.

Mary Kate Cornett’s latest IG post, implying she’s on “a break:”
The rumor is almost too perfect. Two internet hoes peaking at the same time, only for it to implode because Big Daddy Kiffin took the big-boy job in the big city. Tragic stuff, really.
As we all know, MK has been “going through it” this past year. According to her, the fake cheating rumors “ruined her life.” The story spread like wildfire, and suddenly a bunch of media types were forced by their corporate overlords to issue apologies for optics. Because cyberbullying is now something we’re all supposed to clutch our pearls over. God forbid people log off for a week, touch some grass, or interact with human beings in person. Apparently such concepts are unthinkable in 2025.
If Mary Kate Cornett genuinely faced something serious in the real world, that’s obviously awful. But empathy levels dip considerably when we’re talking about getting bullied by faceless avatars on the internet. You’re voluntarily walking into the arena the moment you make yourself an online character. Grow up.
Anyway, I assume this is our last Mary Kate saga. With the campus king gone, she may fade back into the void of irrelevance — fingers crossed. But I’ll admit, these blogs always perform numbers. She’s helping pay my rent whether she likes it or not, so I guess I owe her a thank you.
Godspeed, Mary Kate Cornett. May you find peace in the single life and discover that cyberbullying is avoidable — even for a clout-driven college girl chasing dopamine hits on Instagram.

Disgusting. “Making herself an online character” is a stretch. Leave this girl alone.
