Adoree’ Jackson is quietly having a pretty stellar season as Eagles CB2
Once upon a time, Eagles fans everywhere wanted nothing to do with Adoree’ Jackson. He was banished to the land of regrettable offseason signings, written off and forgotten before he ever really had a chance.
Fast forward to now, and Jackson has quietly put together a pretty solid campaign, despite the constant criticism he took early in the year.
Per Pro Football Focus, Jackson has allowed a 60% completion rate and an 85.1 passer rating on 58 targets, while surrendering just two touchdowns. Over the past two weeks, he’s been even better, giving up only five receptions on 10 targets, snagging an interception, and allowing a 45.2 passer rating.
Sure, one of those games came against Kenny Pickett and the worst offense in the NFL. But context aside, Jackson was supposed to be the black hole of the Eagles defense. Through 14 games, he’s been anything but.
Time to put some respect on Adoree’ Jackson’s name
Jackson, along with the rest of Vic Fangio’s defense, has arrived at exactly the right time. This is a championship-caliber unit, without question. As long as Jackson keeps playing at this level, there isn’t a single weakness on this defense.
And they’re not even at full strength yet, which makes this second-half run even more impressive. Once Jalen Carter returns to the lineup, the Eagles will have the best defensive unit in football — just in time for another Super Bowl run.
