Adoree Jackson Eagles Cowboys

Thanks to Adoree Jackson, it only took the first half to realize the Eagles still have major issues at CB2

The Eagles survived opening night against Dallas, it only took about a half of football for the CB2 problem to rear its ugly head. Unfortunately, Adoree Jackson is completely cooked.

Vic Fangio spent the summer pretending like Adoree’ Jackson could hold it down opposite Quinyon Mitchell.

That illusion died the second Dak Prescott threw a 32-yard dime to CeeDee Lamb on the Cowboys’ opening drive, with Adoree Jackson getting toasted in coverage.

Dallas went right at him, and they kept going back, racking up easy completions, while the internet roasted him into oblivion.

The Eagles have a CB2 Problem:

This wasn’t a surprise. Fangio basically admitted during camp that he was worried about whoever won the CB2 job after Darius Slay and Isaiah Rodgers were shown the door.

Thursday night, Jason Garrett spelled it out on the NBC broadcast: “Adoree’s having a hard time with CeeDee.” That’s the polite way of saying Lamb was eating his lunch.

By the time lightning rolled in and we all sat through a 65-minute delay, it was clear something had to change. Coming out of the break, Fangio finally pulled the plug and let Mitchell follow Lamb around.

Mitchell held his own, even jumping a route late that should’ve sealed the game if he didn’t let the ball slip through his gloves.

While Quinyon Mitchell looked like a closer. Adoree’ looked like a liability. And Fangio looked like a guy who waited too long to make the obvious adjustment.

To be fair, it’s Week 1, and this defense has a lot of moving parts but there’s no way Adoree Jackson starts at Arrowhead. The Eagles don’t have an answer at CB2 right now and honestly, if Lamb doesn’t drop two passes late, Philly might be talking about a blown banner night instead of a 1-0 start.

Adoree Jackson isn’t playable

The Eagles can dress it up however they want, but unless Fangio wants to live in denial, Mitchell is going to have to shadow No. 1 receivers sooner rather than later because if Week 1 taught us anything, it’s that the CB2 plan is a nightmare waiting to happen.

I wish I was graded on Adoree Jackson’s scale…a C?! Cmon man.
