Eagles expected to get both Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter back on Sunday against the Bills
The Eagles are finally starting to get healthy at exactly the right time.
According to early reports ahead of Week 17, the Eagles are expected to get both Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter back in the lineup for Sunday’s matchup against the Bills. That’s about as good of news as you can ask for this late in the season.
Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter expected to return in Buffalo
Lane Johnson returning changes everything up front.
Fred Johnson has held his own over the past few weeks and deserves credit for keeping things afloat. Getting an All-Pro right tackle back immediately raises the ceiling of an offense that’s starting to find its rhythm again. Pass protection stabilizes. The run game benefits. Everything looks cleaner when No. 65 is out there.
On the defensive side, the Eagles have somehow been dominant even without Jalen Carter, which is a scary thought for the rest of the league.
The defensive line has been rolling, pressure has been constant, and Vic Fangio has been dialing it up with confidence.
Still, Carter’s return adds another gear. It keeps everyone fresh, deepens the rotation, and lets guys like Brandon Graham slide back into roles that actually make sense long term. Graham has been awesome kicking inside, but he was never meant to be the full-time answer there.
The Curse Is Dead: Eagles become the first back-to-back division winner since 2004
This all comes with the NFC East already clinched, but don’t expect the Eagles to coast. This team has momentum, confidence, and unfinished business. Getting Lane Johnson and Jalen Carter back before the playoffs is exactly how you want to be trending.
Healthy Eagles are dangerous Eagles and the timing could not be better.
