The Eagles run game disaster starts with “Pro Bowler” Cam Jurgens
I really don’t want to do this coming off a huge win against the Buffalo Bills on road, but I have to. You see, all season us Eagles fans and media members have been dissecting this offense on a weekly basis.
Someone new gets blamed every month it seems. Whether it’s Jalen Hurts, Kevin Patullo, the offensive line, whomever. But I think we can all collectively come together and agree that the run game has been the biggest issue this entire season.
And the most glaring issue I see with it is right up front. It starts with Eagles center Cam Jurgens. Who somehow made the Pro Bowl and the only thing I can recall of him all seaosn is simpy missing blocks and assignments.

While these are just a few screenshots from a few different plays, it doesn’t change the fact that this is a total disaster. I mean, how on earth is Cam Jurgens getting beat before Jalen even hands the ball off to Saquon Barkley? And you’re telling me he’s a Pro Bowl caliber center this year?
It starts up front…
Let me ask you this. How many times has Saquon Barkley got handed the ball and he’s immediately been tackled in the backfield? It feels like more times than not right?
It’s a shame because this defense is playing absolutely lights out and the offense has shown flashes from time to time. I mean shoot, they looked pretty darn good in the first half against the Bills. And then unfortunately, like much of the season, they were awful in the second half.
Jalen Hurts not completing a single pass in the second half might be an issue, but the bigger issue is their bread and butter not being anything near what it was last year. That is the foundation of the Eagles offense. And at this point as a fan, I’m getting desperate to fix this.
Maybe they make a call for Jason Kelce to get out of the ESPN booth and back at the Eagles practice facility?
I can’t imagine Jeff Stoutland is too pleased with things right now.
Luckily, they were able to escape with a win. On the bright side, the Birds have just won three straight, move to 11-5 on the season and actually have a shot for the 2 seed in the Playoffs. And most importantly, time to get this run game right for the post season.
