Eagles fan brags about Nick Foles jersey “Covered in Cowboys Blood” and yeah… let’s all relax

A video making the rounds from an Eagles tailgate shows a fan being interviewed while proudly rocking a Nick Foles jersey. Not just any Nick Foles jersey either. According to the fan himself, the stains on it are literal Cowboys fans’ blood, and no, he hasn’t washed it since getting into a fight with them.

Only in Philadelphia. Yes, I know.

Before this turns into another tired “Eagles fans are animals” pile-on, let’s slow this thing down and be very clear. Physical altercations at tailgates are not cool. Not funny. Not tough. And they are absolutely not representative of the fanbase.

Stuff like this ruins the reputation of Eagles fans and, more importantly, makes life harder for the rest of us who just want to grill, drink, and yell at the TV in peace.

Believe it or not, most Eagles fans can handle their alcohol without turning a football Sunday into a backyard UFC event.

I’ve been getting hammered in those lots and plenty of other stadiums around the country with Eagles fans for years now, and actual fights are the exception, not the rule.

That said, once I made that clear, yeah, I laughed when I first saw the video. The Nick Foles jersey really is the icing on the cake. Of all jerseys to choose for this unhinged flex, that one somehow makes it even more absurd.

Honestly, someone should show it to Foles and let him address it on his podcast, because this feels like something that deserves a confused, polite, Midwest-Christian response.

With that said…

If I ever found myself with Cowboys fans’ blood on one of my Eagles jerseys, I am going straight home and throwing that thing into the washing machine without hesitation. Not only am I washing it, I’m probably running it twice for good measure, lighting some sage nearby, and saying a small prayer just to be safe.

Frankly, it would be a better story if it were Eagles fans’ blood. Or even his own blood. At least then you could lean into the whole “blood, sweat, and tears” thing that fans love to talk about. That narrative actually makes sense. Wearing another fanbase’s blood like a badge of honor does not.

Look, rivalries are supposed to be fun. Trash talk is part of the deal. Booing is encouraged. Chanting is mandatory. Fighting strangers in a parking lot is not it, and it never has been.

Dallas still sucks. Let’s go win another Super Bowl. And for the love of God, do not pick fights with anyone in the lots. Not even the 49ers fans this weekend.
