Philadelphia’s Ladder 15 denies 49ers fans entry ahead of Wild Card vs. Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles host the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round this weekend, and the NFC rivals are set for another installment of their blood feud. Niners fans travel really well and are sure to make a good showing in the city this weekend.

That said, Philadelphia staple Ladder 15 has taken none too kindly to their attempts to convene in their space, denying entry to a large group despite it hurting their bottom line.

The proud patriots of Ladder 15 defended the City of Brotherly Love from the 49ers scum with honor:

First, just let me say, hell yeah. That email from Ladder 15 management has me fired up.

This is the sort of energy we need from Philadelphia bars during the playoffs. This is a hostile environment. If you’re coming to Philly for a playoff game, you are not welcome here. Don’t get comfortable, because you and your team will be thrown out of the city on your asses come gameday.

Of course, the Hard Rock broke stride last season for the NFC Championship, but that’s a corporate shithole. Real Philly bars would never allow such fuckery.

I got to talking with Drew about this, and, while we weren’t surprised Ladder 15 turned away the unwashed masses, we were surprised that our guy Joe at Phans of Philly always finds a way to get hundreds of Eagles fans into a bar for an event on road trips, regardless of destination.

That confusion quickly dissipated when we remembered one key detail: there’s simply no sports city like The Fighting City of Philadelphia.

Of course… this could all be a fake marketing ploy. I doubt it, and I certainly don’t want it to be, but given the state of the world today, we can’t rule it out.

That said, I’m willing to suspend disbelief during a playoff run. We need all the good mojo we can get if we’re going to make a run at back-to-back Super Bowls.
