49ers Fans Takeover Philly Craft Hall Ladder 15

49ers fans have found asylum in Philly after Ladder 15 says “absolutely not”

Shoutout to Pat Egan for dragging this into the sunlight. After Ladder 15 completely nuked a San Francisco 49ers “takeover” attempt yesterday and turned it into an all time Philly marketing moment, it didn’t take long for the 49ers fanbase to start shopping around for their next safe space.

According to a link shared by Egan, the new destination appears to be Craft Hall, located at 901 N Delaware Ave.

Philadelphia’s Ladder 15 denies 49ers fans entry ahead of Wild Card vs. Eagles

The funniest part of the whole thing was Egan’s follow up suggestion. It would be a real shame if Eagles fans just happened to buy up all the tickets to that event.

A truly devastating outcome. Tragic, really.

I tried myself to grab four tickets. No luck. Sold out.

Let’s just hope the Birds faithful beat the 49ers fans to the punch and turned that “takeover” into another accidental Eagles watch party.

Now, to be fair here, bars and restaurants are in a tough spot with this kind of thing.

These are Philly businesses trying to stay profitable. When a large group comes in looking to reserve space and spend money, I get why the temptation exists to say yes, even if that group happens to be wearing red and gold and pretending they own the city for a weekend.

That’s why what Ladder 15 did was so perfect.

They turned the rejection into a full blown marketing campaign. They roasted the 49ers in an email. They posted it on social media. They tagged every major Philly account with a pulse. Before you knew it, the Enterprize Sports crew jumped in and turned the whole thing into an Eagles watch party instead.

That is how you play the game. Free publicity, city wide approval and zero Niners fans inside your bar.

Which is why, if I’m being honest, it’s a little disappointing that Craft Hall didn’t just copy and paste the script. The blueprint was right there. Join forces with Ladder 15 and lean into the moment.

Ride the wave. Philly would have eaten it up.

That said, I’m not going to crush them too hard. These are businesses, not message boards. Livelihoods matter. Still, a little marketing advice never hurt anyone, and this one felt like a layup that got passed up.

Either way, the moral of the story is simple. If you are a 49ers fan trying to plan a “takeover” in Philadelphia, just know the city is watching, the tickets are disappearing fast, and the odds are not in your favor.

Go Birds.
