I don’t care if Jason Kelce defends Kevin Patullo, he needs to be out of the building
During the pregame show for Monday Night Football, Jason Kelce went on a full-blown tirade defending Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo.
Bottom line: Kelce thinks Patullo is a great coach, and that this is more on the players to execute than anything else.
Jason Kelce doing his best to convince the public Patullo isn’t an idiot
Look man, I get it. You played for the guy. That creates a different kind of bond, and you’re always gonna ride for your people.
But we all saw the tape. We saw it every single week. I sat on my couch every Sunday watching the same movie on repeat. Half the time I knew what they were about to do, and I’m a fucking idiot.
And for the record, Jason Kelce went to bat for Brian Johnson in 2023 too. You probably don’t even know where Brian Johnson coaches anymore. He also hand-picked Cam Jurgens as his successor, and right now he might be the most overrated offensive lineman in the NFL.
So yeah, I don’t really give a shit if Kelce defends Patullo.
I’ll always respect Jason Kelce for everything he gave this city. He’s a legend. But he’s not that guy anymore. He’s a national sports media analyst with a pop culture podcast. Call it whatever you want, his connection to this city isn’t what it used to be, and he sure as hell doesn’t speak for the fanbase.
Defend Patullo all you want. It won’t change the fact he’ll be gone in less than a week.
And I’ll even agree with Kelce on one thing: firing Patullo won’t magically fix the offense. Because this is Nick Sirianni’s offense. Always has been. Always will be. Expecting players to elevate bad coaching is the exact opposite of how professional sports works.
There are 32 offensive coordinator jobs in the NFL. You have to be one of the best of the best to land one. KP doesn’t deserve it. And honestly? Neither does Nick Sirianni.
Once we all accept that, we can actually start moving this team back toward winning another Super Bowl.
