Eagles OC Update: Howie Roseman and Jeffrey Lurie cast a wide net with 5 notable candidates
Eagles fans are getting a clearer picture of how wide the team’s offensive coordinator search is right now, and it’s obvious they’re doing their homework with a long list of candidates — and honestly, that’s a good thing.
The Birds aren’t messing around. They’re doing what a serious franchise does after an inconsistent offensive year: interview everybody with a pulse and a playbook, then pick the guy who can actually maximize this roster.
Here’s the latest update on who the Eagles have talked to (or plan to).
Eagles OC Search: Latest Interview Updates
According to Adam Schefter, the Eagles interviewed former Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson, which is a pretty interesting swing considering he’s viewed as one of the younger, modern minds in the league.
Per Jeremy Fowler, the Eagles also interviewed former Giants OC and interim head coach Mike Kafka, a name that’s been floating around coordinator circles for a while now.
And the list isn’t done.
Mike Garafolo reported the Eagles have requested an interview with Colts OC Jim Bob Cooter, which feels like a very “leave no stone unturned” move.
Then you’ve got the bigger names.
Jeff Darlington says former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel will interview for the Eagles OC job at some point, which would instantly be the most exciting possibility on the board. If he’s actually interested, you listen.

And finally, Connor Hughes reported former Giants head coach Brian Daboll is expected to get an “extended look,” which makes a ton of sense considering his history with quarterbacks and the fact he’s been around real offensive success.
While some of these names may be underwhelming to some (i.e. Mike Kafka), bringing in as many people as possible for this job makes sense. Getting several point of views on how to fix this offense is invaluable. Plus, it develops relationships with coaches you may want to bring in down the line.
The Eagles are casting a wide net, and that’s exactly what they should be doing. This roster is too talented to waste another year playing offensive roulette.
