Twitter unites to shame Emmanuel Acho for an all-time terrible sports take and it’s beautiful

Emmanuel Acho has, and always will be, one of the worst voices in sports media. So seeing Twitter unite to clown him for his Shedeur Sanders take genuinely restored my faith in humanity.

In case you missed it, Emmanuel Acho fired off this awful take on Wednesday, urging Sanders to just ignore his new head coach, Todd Monken, because he’s never won anything at this level.

The tweet is now sitting at 8.5 million views, with just over 700 likes and a whopping 4,000 replies.

Twitter never unites over anything. If I tweeted that the sky is blue, some random avatar would reply telling me it’s red. Putting out a take this universally hated is honestly impressive. We’ve never seen something this extraordinary on this app. It should be studied.

But seriously, everyone is shitting on this guy. You’ve got Asante Samuel saying he bought his platform to spread nonsense, everyone at Barstool clowning on him, and fellow sports writers telling him to shut up. It’s beautiful.

I shouldn’t have to tell you this, but the take itself is horrendous and completely devoid of insight. Especially considering the quarterback being talked about here is Shedeur Sanders, the inarguably worst starting quarterback in the NFL, and a guy who might not even be Cleveland’s Week 1 starter next season.

He’s simply not good, and when he was named a Pro Bowl alternate, Twitter united against that too. Maybe it’s just a Cleveland thing. Twitter does love punching down whenever it gets the chance.

The sad part is Emmanuel Acho won’t lose his platform. If anything, this probably boosts his stock in the eyes of company shareholders. Engagement is all that matters now. Unfortunately, nobody gives a shit about insight, but we love shit takes. And we eat them up every time.
