Sean Mannion Fallout: Sports media’s backup QB club isn’t happy
Sean Mannion is officially the Eagles’ next offensive coordinator. It’s a huge swing by the Eagles, and there are a lot of mixed feelings floating around the timeline.
You either love the hire or you hate it, and it’s pretty obvious what some in the media think, especially those who come from the same background as Mannion, a career backup quarterback. Chase Daniel and Dan Orlovsky, both somehow still prominent figures in sports media, don’t seem to be very happy with the hire.
Sean Mannion getting hate from some of his fellow career backups
“Oh ok.”
Dear lord. You sound like my fucking wife.
It’s deeply disturbing to me that we, as a society, have allowed the likes of Daniel and Orlovsky to thrive in the sports media world. Maybe we never had a choice in the matter, but that’s beside the point.
You should be happy that someone like Mannion was able to rise up the ranks this fast. It proves a truly smart football mind can get to where they belong. And maybe that’s why Orlovsky and Daniel are so butthurt, because deep down they know they’re braindead hacks working for companies that don’t care about anything other than how many likes they get on their tweets.
This just reeks of insecurity and jealousy. If you two were as good at breaking down film and evaluating football as you posture yourselves to be, you’d be in the same position as Sean Mannion. But you’re not, so you’re stuck behind a desk farming engagement and rage-baiting fanbases. It’s a sad, sad life.
