Eagles Pro Bowler takes “health reset week” in Colombia to fix lingering back issues

Eagles center Cam Jurgens isn’t messing around this offseason.

The two-time Pro Bowler was in Medellín, Colombia for what he called a “health reset week” at bioXcellerator, a clinic known for customized stem cell therapy. Jurgens documented the trip on Instagram, including a nearly minute-long video showing him preparing to receive 70 million stem cells through an intradiscal injection directly into his spine.

That alone tells you everything you need to know about where his back is at.

Eagles Offensive Line Has a Real Question at Center

Jurgens battled through an injury-filled 2025 season. He was still recovering from back surgery, missed three games with a knee injury, and played in a bulky brace when he returned. Somehow, he still made the Pro Bowl for the second straight year.

But let’s be honest. The Eagles offensive line did not look like the dominant unit we’re used to seeing. And while Jurgens made the Pro Bowl, Pro Football Focus graded him 18th out of 37 qualified centers. That’s solid. Not elite.

The intradiscal stem cell treatment suggests the original surgery didn’t fully solve the issue that flared up late in the Super Bowl LIX run. Stem cell procedures like this are heavily regulated in the United States, which is why Jurgens went to Colombia for treatment. It’s considered experimental for orthopedic injuries.

In other words, this isn’t routine maintenance. This is trying to fix something that hasn’t fully healed.

Eagles Banking on Jurgens Long-Term

The Eagles clearly believe in Jurgens. They handed him a four-year, $68 million extension in April 2025 despite the back concerns. That’s franchise-center money.

Behind him, the depth is unproven. Drew Kendall is a promising fifth-round pick, but he’s still a projection. Brett Toth filled in last season but is set to hit free agency. If Jurgens isn’t right, it becomes a real storyline fast.

And this isn’t happening in a vacuum. Landon Dickerson dealt with health concerns. Lane Johnson mulled retirement. Jeff Stoutland stepped away. Kevin Patullo is gone. The entire identity of the Eagles offense is in transition.

For years, the offensive line has been the backbone of this team. When that unit slips, everything slips.

The Eagles need Cam Jurgens healthy. Not Pro Bowl-by-name healthy. Actually healthy.

If this stem cell “health reset” works, great. If it doesn’t, center quietly becomes one of the biggest question marks on the roster heading into 2026.

For a team trying to get back to dominating the trenches, that’s not exactly a small detail.
