Destiny: Bald Eagle landed on a Canadian flag at half mast allegedly after the gold medal game

Did this actually happen right after the gold medal game? No idea. Did not look it up. Does it matter? Absolutely not. A bald eagle landed on a Canadian flag at half mast in Vancouver and the timing is perfect regardless of when it technically occurred.

America wins gold and the national bird shows up to twist the knife. That is just the universe doing its thing.

Bald Eagle lands on a Canadian flag at half mast in Vancouver

Now about that Canadian flag being at half mast. A lot of people in the comments were asking why it was flying that way.

The honest answer is I do not know the actual reason. But the way I choose to see it, Canada flies its flags at half mast because losing your national sport at the highest stage in the world is a national tragedy and they are in mourning.

That is the only explanation that makes sense to me and I am not accepting any others.

The roasting of Canada on social media since Sunday morning has been completely out of control in the best possible way.

Americans are showing absolutely no mercy and I am not going to pretend I’m not enjoying every second of it. Between Nathan MacKinnon’s “you be the judge” postgame comments, the overtime rules complaints, and whatever excuse has been floated in the last 48 hours, Canada has given the internet plenty of material to work with.

The Huff Post tried to rain on America’s parade and got exactly what they deserved

The full American invasion and statehood outcome I mentioned in an earlier post remains on the table as far as I’m concerned. Once you lose your own game on the world stage you lose the right to be an independent country. That’s just how it works now.

USA USA USA.
