Jared McCain drops third 20-point game with Oklahoma City as the scoreboard keeps getting more embarrassing for Daryl Morey
The Thunder beat the Bulls 116-108 on the road Wednesday night on a back-to-back. Oklahoma City’s two leading scorers were Jared McCain and Isaiah Joe. The Thunder have the best record in the NBA at 48-15. They are 8-3 since acquiring McCain from Philadelphia on February 5th.
The Sixers are 4-7 since trading him.
Jared McCain finished with 20 points, three rebounds, and two steals on 8-of-15 shooting and 4-of-9 from three in 25 minutes off the bench.

It was Jared McCain’s third 20-point game since joining OKC. Second-most points on the Thunder over their last ten games. Among all bench players since the All-Star break, McCain ranks third in total points at 101, doing it on a 63.7 true shooting percentage that is better than both Payton Pritchard and Bennedict Mathurin above him on that list. He is not just racking up empty volume. He is doing it efficiently on the defending champions.
Meanwhile in Philadelphia, Quentin Grimes scored two points in a game where Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Kelly Oubre were all out. Two points. From one of the players the Sixers are leaning on while the roster crumbles around Tyrese Maxey, who has openly admitted to missing McCain. Even Maxey knows.
Tyrese Maxey LAST NIGHT on Jared McCain
And since we are talking about the Sixers being embarrassed, the Spurs smoked them the night before in what multiple people are describing as one of the most embarrassing basketball games they have ever watched. San Antonio. The Spurs. The team that has been tanking for Victor Wembanyama and rebuilding from scratch. That team went into Philadelphia and handled business.

Daryl Morey traded a 22-year-old who is currently the third-highest scoring bench player in the NBA since the All-Star break, on the best team in the league, and called it selling high. The Thunder are 8-3. The Sixers are 4-7. Jared McCain just had his third 20-point game in OKC. Tyrese Maxey misses him.
Fire Daryl Morey.
