Lane Johnson is actively recruiting Maxx Crosby on social media

Lane Johnson has made a habit of tweeting at potential trade or free agent targets for the Eagles. He’s done it more times than I can count, and his latest tweet had Birds Twitter worked into a frenzy Thursday afternoon.

All it took was a simple eyes emoji and a tag of Maxx Crosby for the entire Eagles echo chamber to start firing off trade proposals.

Landing Maxx Crosby would put the Eagles right back at the top of the Super Bowl conversation. AJ Brown drama be damned — if Howie Roseman manages to bring a top-three pass rusher to Philly, I don’t think anyone will care much about the media circus beating the “trade AJ” drum.

It’ll probably take a treasure trove of picks, maybe even two first-rounders. That’s what the most recent reporting has suggested, at least. Supposedly the Cowboys thought they were close to a deal before a mystery team swooped in with a better offer. Naturally, plenty of people think that mystery team is the Eagles.

If that’s true, Lane Johnson knows exactly what he’s doing. If it’s not, then he’s just stirring the pot for the hell of it. Honestly, I respect both approaches.
