Dianna Russini wins WIP award despite being wrong about the Eagles over and over again
Sports Radio WIP handed out a media award to Dianna Russini for her Eagles coverage and I genuinely need a moment to let that sink in. Hell, I even doubted it was true to begin with. That’s how insane this is.
We are talking about the same reporter who spent months pushing the AJ Brown meltdown narrative. She claimed AJ Brown was miserable and that he was demanding trades while building an entire sources and narratives solely off Instagram captions and posts on Twitter.
The entire Eagles organization shut it down. Hell, AJ Brown shut it down personally. She got community noted on Twitter at one point because of how wildly inaccurate her reporting was and WIP’s response to all of that was to give her an award.
This is absolutely INSANE.

Dianna Russini gets community-noted after pushing another AJ Brown lie >>
If the criteria was being a national NFL reporter who tweets almost exclusively about the Eagles in a way that consistently irritates the fanbase and regularly turns out to be wrong, then sure, Dianna Russini probably ran away with this one.
Nobody else was even close. The trophy was hers from the jump.
What makes this especially rich is that 94.1 WIP has actual Eagles insiders at the station. People who are in the building, who have real relationships in that locker room, who do the actual work and the award goes to the national reporter who built a months-long narrative around a player who then went out of his way to say the narrative was wrong.
That is the winner. That is the standard WIP has decided to celebrate.
Real Eagles fans who watch every snap and do not fall for national media clickbait have been over this for a long time. The formula is not hard to see. Create drama, push the narrative, ignore reality when it contradicts the take, collect the engagement, and move on to the next one. WIP handing out an award for this is just the latest iteration of the same cycle and it is exhausting.
Nobody is asking for homer takes or propaganda. Basic accuracy would be a fine place to start.
One more thing. If AJ Brown does get traded this offseason the same people who were wrong about the timeline and the circumstances are going to act like they called the whole thing. Do not fall for it. Being right eventually after being wrong for eight months is not the same as being right. The scoreboard remembers even when the media does not.
