Alec Bohm is suing his parents over alleged financial mismanagement of millions
This is about as ugly as it gets. Alec Bohm has filed a lawsuit against his parents, alleging they mishandled and misappropriated millions of dollars while managing his finances. The suit was filed in Philadelphia and centers around claims that what was supposed to be routine financial oversight turned into something much more serious.
According to the filing, Bohm says his parents set up multiple LLCs starting back in 2019 to manage his money after he entered the league. On paper, they took a 10% stake, which Bohm claims was pitched as a formality so they could act on his behalf. He believed he still owned everything inside those entities.
That, apparently, wasn’t the reality.
Alec Bohm alleges money was funneled and used for personal expenses
The lawsuit claims Bohm’s parents gained access to his personal accounts, kept limited funds in them, and moved the rest into LLC-controlled accounts. The explanation given to him was that the money would be used for standard investments like stocks to generate passive income.
Instead, Bohm alleges that an unknown amount of that money was converted for their own personal use. The suit also claims funds from the Alec Bohm Foundation were used to cover personal expenses, which, if true, takes this to another level entirely.
Things didn’t stop there.
Bohm also points to real estate dealings in 2024, where his parents allegedly created additional LLCs to purchase property on his behalf. He says he was told he couldn’t hold the title in his own name, but wasn’t given a real explanation why. Now, he believes costs tied to those properties were overstated, with money potentially being skimmed off the top.
Alec Bohm pushed for answers and got lawyers instead
This situation really blew up earlier this year.
In January, Bohm requested full access to his financial records, account statements, and login credentials. Instead of getting transparency, the lawsuit claims his parents hired legal counsel and provided minimal information.
At one point, they allegedly told Bohm they would begin charging him $50 per hour for managing his own finances.
That’s when this turned into a legal battle.
Bohm is now seeking at least $3 million in damages, full control of the LLCs tied to his money, and a complete accounting of where everything went. He’s also asking the court to force repayment of any funds that were used improperly.
His parents, through their attorney, have denied all wrongdoing and say the allegations are false.
There’s no gray area here. If what Alec Bohm is alleging is true, it’s a massive breach of trust at the highest level. And if it’s not, this is still headed for a drawn-out legal fight that’s going to get messy either way.
Either way, this isn’t just a baseball story anymore. It’s a real-life situation that’s going to play out in court.
