Spike Eskin plays pick-me for Dianna Russini, still won’t publicly defend Devan Kaney after layoff
Spike Eskin is such a cuck. After Dianna Russini’s resignation, Spike ran to Twitter to try and get her attention by tossing his journalistic integrity to the side and flat-out lying to his audience.
He went with the whole “she’s actually a good journalist and right about everything, people are just mad because she tells the truth” angle. It’s an oddly Trumpian take coming from a known lib. Funny how that works when one of your own is the one catching heat.
The funniest part of all this, and probably the most damning, is that Spike still hasn’t publicly acknowledged Devan Kaney or wished her luck after her untimely layoff from 94WIP. There are really only two possible reasons for that. One, he’s just a prick. Or two, Devan doesn’t serve any purpose for his brand. Spike believes that she can’t boost his clout or get him enough clicks so she doesn’t exist to him.
That tells you everything you need to know about what Spike Eskin actually values. It’s not journalism. It’s not loyalty. It’s whatever gets him attention on any given day.

As you can tell, Twitter had a field day with this. The community note buried him and the comments did the rest. He doesn’t care though. He still got those sweet clicks. That’s all he cares about.
Somehow there’s a group of people on social media who think I’m the problem for writing this. If you can’t quickly identify that Spike Eskin acknowledging Dianna Russini in a completely false light just for clicks is the actual issue here, I don’t know what to tell you.
He said she’s been “right about story after story before others on multiple occasions, including AJ.” That is complete and utter bullshit. Russini was wrong about AJ Brown. She was wrong repeatedly. Spike knows that. He doesn’t care. He said it anyway because it gets engagement and because he’s auditioning for her attention.
That’s exactly why the Devan Kaney silence matters. One woman can do something for him. The other can’t. So one gets a public love letter full of lies and the other gets nothing. Not a word. Not a mention. That’s not complicated. That’s not hard to figure out. Come on, Twitter.
Use those peanut-sized brains and connect the dots. Idiots.
Maybe his day of reckoning comes soon. Spike Eskin deserves all the hate for a variety of reasons, of course, but I have my doubts anything will happen. Nothing ever happens but with each passing day, it’s pretty clear people are tired of Spike Eskin’s same old act.
The reality of the situation is that money talks. If the views dry up like they did for his failed podcast, he’ll probably be out of work sooner rather than later, just like Dianna.
That would be a fitting end to something nobody wanted to watch in the first place.
